This Annual International Seminar on English Language Teaching (AISELT) was held as a part of community service of English Education Department of University of Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa. It was aimed to enrich and enliven academic atmoshpere in Banten Province in particular, and in Indonesia. Moreover, it was expected that this seminar could provide English Language Teaching (ELT) communities; academicians, teachers, students, and lecturers of English and English Education opportunities to share their research and insights. Lastly, it could be a forum of academic networking for the participants.

AISELT 2016
Annual International Sem
inar on English Language Teaching (AISELT), in 2016 was formerly abbreviated as ISELT, is a seminar which is held once in a year. This seminar is hosted by English Department of Teacher Training and Education Faculty, University of Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa, Banten Province Indonesia.
The first ISELT was held on  September 2016 at Auditorium UNTIRTA. The Plenary Speakers were Dr. Sally Ann Jones, senior lecturer at English Language and Literature of National Institute of Education, Singapore, and Dr. Suwartono, M.Hum, lecturer of University of Muhammadiyah Purwokerto.
The theme of ISELT 2016 was New Streams and Challenges in EFL Teaching and Learning. 220 participants from various background of ELT and different regions of Indonesia joined this seminar. 62 participants were paper presenters and 159 were regular participants. In the parallel session they presented wide and various topics in the scope of English Language Teaching and Learning.

AISELT 2017
The second event was held on September 8, 2018 at Le Dian Hotel, Serang. Three Plenary Speakers shared their thoughts regarding English Teaching and Learning which was covered in a general theme of the seminar: ELT in the Global Era, Transforming Perspectives in Teaching and Learning. The first Plenary Speaker was Dr. Willy A Renandya, a Principal Lecturer at the ELL Department, National Institute of Education, Singapore. The second Plenary Speaker was Itje Chodidjah, M.A, an International Teacher Trainer,British Council Jakarta. The third Plenary Speaker was Jodeen Shiek, M.Sc, TESOL Consultant of UTSINSEARCH.

AISELT 2018
The third event was succesfully held on September 8, 2018 at Le Dian Hotel, Serang. Three Plenary Speakers shared their thoughts regarding English Teaching and Learning which was covered in a general theme of the seminar: Teachers’ Professional Development: 21st Century Teaching Skills. The Keynote Speaker was Prof. Fuad Abdul Hamied, M.A., Ph.D., Professor of Language Education at Indonesia University of Education (UPI) and the President of the Association of TEFL in Indonesia (TEFLIN). The First Plenary speaker was Dr. Alvin Pang, the Dean of Training, Research Assessment and Consultancy Division at SEAMEO RELC, Singapore. The second Plenary Speaker was Dr. Peter Teo, Associate Professor and former Head, English Language and Literature Academic Group, National Institute of Education, Singapore. The third Plenary Speaker was R. Alpha Amirrachman, M.Phil., Ph.D., Special Staff of Ministry of Education and Culture of Republic Indonesia.

AISELT 2019

The fourth AISELT was held on 21 September 2019 at Horison Ultima Ratu Hotel, Serang-Banten, Indonesia. The Keynote Speaker was Prof. Dr. Joko Nurkamto, M.Pd. from Sebelas Maret University. The Plenary Speakers were Dr. Allan F Lauder, senior lecturer at Lingusitics Department of University of Indonesia, Bambang Sumintono, Ph.D., senior lecturer at Institute of Educational Leadership, University of Malaya, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and R. Alpha Amirrachman, M.Phil.Ed., Ph.D., Director of SEAMOLEC, Indonesia.

The theme of AISELT 2019 was ELT in Response to Industrial Revolution 4.0: Innovation, Challenges and Opportunities. More than 200 participants from various background of ELT and different regions of Indonesia joined this seminar. In the parallel session they presented wide and various topics in the scope of English Language Teaching and Learning.

AISELT 2020

The fifth AISELT was different from the four previous events, the fifth AISELT was hold online due to COVID-19 pandemic. Hence, the general theme of the seminar was also related to this happening issue:  Adapting and Transforming ELT During and Post Covid-19 Pandemic Era. The Keynote Speaker was Prof. Didi Sukyadi, MA. from Indonesia University  of Education, Indonesia. The First Plenary speaker is Dr. Aisling O’ Boyle from Queen’s University Belfast, UK. The second Plenary Speaker is Dr. Gumawang Djati, M.A., senior lecturer at Bandung Institute of Technology, Indonesia. The third Plenary Speaker is R. Alpha Amirrachman, M.Phil.Ed., Ph.D., Director of SEAMOLEC, Indonesia.
